Golf Basic Rules for Beginners.

There is a universal set of rules of golf. The following will provide an outline of some of the most important rules in the game of golf for beginners. For more details of golf basic rules refer to the actual golf rule book.

• Starting out announce the make and number of golf ball you are going to play with.

• You are allowed only to have 14 clubs in your golf bag.

• Penalties for too many golf clubs are: For stroke-play it is two penalty strokes are given on each hole where the fault occurred. In match-play you loose the hole where the violation occurred stableford deduct 2 points for every hole the violation occurred. Maximum deduction 4 points.

• The player with the honour of teeing off first: In organized competition the player whose name appears first. Otherwise toss a coin.

• Teeing off, make sure to stay within the line of the two markers.

• Teeing off outside the line of the markers in match play your opponent can ask you to take your shot again, but there is no penalty. In stroke-play you are penalized by two strokes and have to re-take your shot.

• Ball falls off the tee even if you touch the ball with the club head there is no penalty. If you have started your down swing and making a glancing blow on the ball or even if you miss the ball, it counts as a stroke. But if you are able to stop your swing it does not count as a stroke.

• Once you have struck your ball, you must play as it lies which means you may not touch the ball as it lies. Often during winter some courses will permit you to clean and place the ball on the fairway, and allow to place the ball within 6” of its original position, but it cannot be closer to the hole. The course may also have a specific ruling on the rough, which you will have to check with the golf club.

• Always make sure the ball you are about to play is your ball. Playing the incorrect ball will incur a penalty. In match play you loose the hole. In stroke-play you incur a two-stroke penalty and then play your own golf ball. If the ball belongs to a fellow player the ball must be replaced.

• Lost Ball: you are allowed 5 minutes to look for your golf ball. Always remember to direct the match behind you to play through. If after 5 minutes you cannot find your ball, in match- play and stroke-play you must play your new ball at where you played your last shot, if on the fairway you play near as possible to where you played your previous shot. Penalty is added, for example if your shot was a tee shot well you would then be playing your 3rd shot.

• Finally for golf basic rules always refer to the golf rule book if in any doubt about a particular question, and dont forget to look at that great e-book i mentioned earlier called "Renegade Mindset Techniques for Golf!" by a guy called. Stephen Ladd. It has easy-to-use golf techniques to overcome lack of confidence, skill, physical power and practice time on the range.

Mental Golf - The Simple Frame of Mind to Adopt

Golf is every bit a mental game as it is a physical game. There are hundreds if not thousands of books out there in the market written on the subject of mental golf attitude, and can be of fantastic benefit to read up on them, but reading up on too many books on the subject you will probably be more confused trying to remember what they all said on mental golf attitude, yes they are great and one should read up on the subject, it can only be good for ones game of golf, maybe find a book you enjoy reading on the subject, but probably not a whole library on the matter, especially for beginners starting out.

There is an excellant e-book on sale by Wade Pearse called " THE MENTAL GAME OF GOLF!" it also includes 6 Bonus Audio Coaching Sessions, have a quick look at it, i think you will be impressed.

The one true fact that is written in every book on mental golf attitude is with out the right mental attitude especially positive over negative your game will be in severe trouble from beginning to end.

For beginners the following are some short tips to might keep in mind before and during your game of golf, and will help to contribute towards a relaxed frame of mind.

• Before leaving home or the office for the golf course have a quick check with your clubs and accessories if they are all in order.
• Are they clubs clean and in the correct order in your golf bag.
• Have you got all the required accessories such as: golf glove and is it dry. (Have a spare glove) tees. golf balls, pitch marker, pencil, golf cap, umbrella wet suit, golf shoes.
• It makes such a physiological difference being organized and equipment clean and dry.
• A last minute check before leaving the office or home, that nothing is left undone that might come into your mind while on the course. Feel relaxed and free, very important.
• Be at the golf course in plenty of time, at least one hour before tee off time.
• Go to the driving range and practice on a few different clubs, also practice on the putting area, practice hitting golf balls from different distance and angles.
• Relax with a cup of tee or coffee before starting to play.
• When it is your turn to tee off, wish all of your partners best of luck, and then most importantly slow down take a few deep breaths , put everything else other than the golf out of your mind, completely focus on the game ahead. And you will enjoy your game , that is the frame of mind to adopt.

Remember to take a quick look at the e-book i mentioned called THE MENTAL GAME OF GOLF!

Adult Golf.- Retirement. Answers to Your Questions

You will find it to be the fastest and most enjoyable 4 hours ever spent.

Golf is fantastic when away just for the week-end especially if your partner also plays the game. There are fantastic courses available, The majority of the golf courses are more than welcome to visitors and glad to have them, just remember always check at the golf course as to the time slots available.
The afternoons during week-days are usually the quietest times to play, that is why golf in retirement can be fantastic sport to consider playing.

A couple of suggestions to getting started.
• Don’t just go out with some friends and experiment casually at the driving range and rely on their tips and advice, do it properly as the tips and advice could be totally unsuited to your style of play.

• Take some lessons they don’t cost a lot, it is the perfect and the proper way to start off.

• Taking lessons, you will learn the proper fundamentals of the game, which will help build your confidence.

• At every golf course you will find a golf pro. Who will give you private lessons? That way you will get full attention to get you started.

• Rules and golf etiquette. Don’t let that frighten you or put you off in anyway. First off via the golf lessons it will be a start. Talk to your golfer friends and they will give you a list of the basic rules and golf etiquette to abide by. Always have total respect for the golf course and other players on and off the course.

• Golf Rule Book, you can acquire one at the golf pro. shop.

• Always have your rule book in your golf bag, as it will come in very useful on the course to answer various questions and situations on the course.

• Tip. When starting out on the course with your friends and in order to keep up with play, or to avoid embarrassment if you are playing behind, pick up your golf ball and move on to next hole, don’t be afraid as you are quiet entitled to do so, it is very common with beginners, and remember that is what you are, a beginner.

• Scoring. This should be the last thing on your mind starting out in the game of golf, your purpose is to get to know the game, get used to and like the game.

• Finally the game of golf is and can be a fantastic game regardless of age, from the very young to the very old. With the best of scenery and fresh air it is the best of all worlds.
Finally have a look at the e-book i mentioned at the beginning called" How To Golf And Why
!

Golf Bunker. Super Ideas and Suggestions for Beginners

Most greenside golf bunkers you will find have greater banks than fairway bunkers have, so you will require a good height to your shot and a very short distance.

Remember with a bunker shot one can not ground the club in the sand when addressing the ball, including not touching the sand before you play your stroke. If you do either you will be penalized two strokes in stroke play or in match play the penalty is loss of a hole.
Before playing your shot, move to the back outside of the bunker and take a few practice swings as if you were in the bunker.
An e-book which you can down load called" "How To Golf And Why"
!
By Teddy Webber has 6 differant lessons on golf with one specifically on golf bunkers, have a look at it.

Access your line of target, stand with your feet apart, make sure to have your stance and club face open.

Have the golf ball so it is back in your stance, but not too far back. Always remember the more of a back swing you adopt the greater the distance you will have.
Firm both your feet in the sand to create a solid footing, as you rotate your feet creating a solid footing you will get a feel as to how loose the sand is, and also a guide as how much sand there is.

Make sure never to change your posture. How hard a player should hit down into the sand it all depends on the texture and depth of the sand.

When striking the ball hit the sand approximately four inches before the golf ball. Most importantly make sure to follow through with your shot, this is vital, if you fail to do so your ball will most likely fail to clear the bunker lip. Don’t apply brute force as an attempt to blast the ball out will only cause all kinds of problems, Try and imagine the club head travelling on a U-shape into and through impact
By hitting the sand approx the four inches before the golf ball and making sure to follow through, the club should slide under the ball and should therefore have a lot of spin in the ball preventing the ball from rolling too far.

Finally always remember when in golf bunkers to smooth out the foot marks and any other marks with the rake provided.
Failure to repair a golf bunker is as with any damage to the golf course is unforgivable. If there is no rake available try and use your club to smooth out the marks best as possible, and do click on " How To Golf And Why!" that i mentioned earlier.

Golf Etiquette - Beginner Tips. Advice and Suggestions

Golf Etiquette is sometimes defined as a code of behaviour that is correct and polite; it is much more than just a hand shake. Not observing the code of conduct can be one of the big pit falls for golf beginners.
Golf is a sport that relies on the integrity and honesty of each individual player to show consideration for their fellow players. To assist you in observing golf etiquette, the following is a short guide for same. Before I do there is a very good e-book I would like to mention and that is "Pure Point Golf!" by Bobby Eldridge, and it includes a Free Golf DVD, worth at a look at.

Teeing Off:
• Be ready to play as soon as it’s your turn.
• Never stand too close to the person who’s teeing off.
• Be completely silent always when a player is taking their shot.
• When you have completed your shot move aside, and again be silent while
the next player is taking their shot.
• Never stand directly behind a player taking their shot, stand behind but slightly right
of player if it’s a left hand player stand left, be well back at all times.

Fairway.
• Repair your divot always. A divot left not repaired can take weeks to heal, where as
a repaired divot will heal in the space of 4 to 5 days. It only takes a few second to
replace and firm down with your foot.

Safety:
• Never be tempted to walk onto your ball while your partner is taking their shot.
Apply the habit of always looking behind you before moving on.

Bunkers:
• Remember always to smooth out all marks made by you, use the provided rake to do
so, also look out for any other marks you might repair, in total leave the bunker as
you would ideally like to find it. If no rake is provided use your club to smooth as
best you can.

Greens:
• Place your golf bag or trolley to where you will be walking towards the next tee box.
• Never place your golf bag or trolley on the green.
• Repair any pitch marks created including any other pitch marks you might see on the
green.
• Repairing the pitch mark, stick the repair tool into the ground behind the pitch mark,
and gently lift the compact dirt and tap it down gently and even with your putter and
not with your golf shoe.
• Be conscious of not dragging your feet on the green as it leaves several spike marks.
• Remember the green surface is a very tender area of the golf course, and treat it as
such.

• Pin:
• Don’t throw or drop the pin on to the ground, place it down gently.
• Don’t stand or cross another player’s line.
• Complete silence while partner is analyzing, practice swing and actual putt.
• Be ready to play as soon it’s your turn to take your shot.

Finally as I already stated earlier take a look at Bobby Eldridges e-book Pure Point Golf! and get his free DVD I think you will be happy you did. And always keep golf etiquette in your mind.

Golf Beginners – Tips and Advice

Assuming you have taken a number of golf lessons and you have been out regularly on the driving range practicing the different instructions the pro. coach has taught you e.g., grip, stance, swing and putting. Whatever the instructions were it is very important to stick to what you were told to practice on.

We will presume by now you have been out on the golf course on quiet a number of occasions. With that in mind here are a few tips for you, and hopefully help you further to enjoy the game more.

•As in any new game one takes up, it will require plenty of practice regardless of what game it is, getting to know the game more helps you enjoy it more.

•Before going out on the course, before any game of golf, always arrive approx.,1 hour before you are due to play. Never arrive when you are due on the tee box, as neither your mind or body are prepared, and you will pay the price with poor to bad results.

•Being late to play is a an offence both to your playing partners, and also to the club as you will be delaying the time sheet.

•Being at the golf course the hour before play. Go to the driving range and practice with the different woods and irons including practicing on the putting green. It will help you to relax and give confidence starting off your game. A very good e-book on golf generally is an e-book called "Pure Point Golf!" by Bobby Eldridge. He gives a Free 1 hour DVD, well worth looking at.

•Keep in mind that you as most golf beginners won’t get all the results you would like for some time.

•Stick with your prepared routine and remember you will be as good as and maybe just maybe even a little bit better than your golf beginner friends.

•Your objective is to get to know, get used to, and most of all enjoy the game of golf.

•Teeing off: Stand well behind the ball and get a clear imaginary line to the target, pick a spot approx. 10 feet from the where ball is on the tee and the target line, line up to that target, hips and shoulders fully square to the target, relax and take a deep breath before hitting the ball, and then a nice even follow through swing.

•When as you will make lots of mistakes and as the professionals do, remember how to beat the effect of the mistake, is to try and not get mad with yourself, and most importantly put the mistake behind you, forget it and focuses on your next shot. Ideally you should play each shot as if it is the only shot you are going to play, take a deep breath, shake those shoulders and move on, again you are a golf beginner.

•Always have your golf rule book in your golf bag that is your bible. It will be of great benefit if you or your partners require answers to any particular rule you may need answering, remember by making the mistake and finding the answers that is one way you will remember the rules.

•Don’t hold your grip too tight, find a grip that is light and comfortable for you, A tight grip can cause all kind of problems; again relax with a nice easy grip.

•Finally have one intention before you start your game, and that should be to go out and enjoy the game, enjoy the beautiful scenery of the golf course and the fresh air

Remember that e-book I mentioned by Bobby Eldridge "Pure Point Golf!" definitely worth a look at especially with the free DVD.

Beginners Golf – How to Avoid Slow Play

Slow Play.
One of the most annoying problems on the golf course has to be slow play, you don’t have to rush play just make sure to keep the play moving. Some tips to follow on beginners golf.

Tee Box:
Be always ready to play as soon as it is your turn to tee off, as soon as you have completed your shot and your partners have completed theirs walk briskly to your golf ball.

Fairway:
While waiting to take your shot, while your partner is taking their shot think and study your shot and therefore be ready immediately to play as soon as it’s your turn. Remember to repair that divot. An e-book you should look at to help you with your swing and many more aspects of the game called Pure Point Golf! by Bobby Eldridge, which also includes a free DVD, have a look.

Rough:
If you happen to play into the rough, and your ball is hidden, you should immediately direct the players behind you to play through. It prevents the frustration and annoyance of the players behind you. Remember don’t get too upset at arriving in the rough as even the golf pros. get into the rough and some times loose their ball.Think on this by directing the players behind you through, it then gives you more time to search for your ball.

Bunkers:
Repairing your marks and others you may find, do so briskly. Be sure to leave the bunker as you would wish to find it.

Card Marking:
When marking your card or which it will be your partner’s card you will be marking, don’t stand on the green to do so, wait until you are waiting to take your next tee shot. Also when especially at having completed the 18th and final hole, shake hands with your partners, but don’t check or mark your card until you are well clear of the 18th hole.

Players behind You:
Be ever conscious if you are slowing up play and there is a clear hole ahead of you; remember to wave the players behind you through.

While you are waiting for your partner to complete their shot, be thinking and preparing in your mind as to how you are going to play your shot, and therefore be ready immediately to play your shot. The e-book i mentioned earlier called. "Pure Point Golf!" by Bobby Eldridge, with the free DVD dont forget to take a look at it.

Beginners Golf - Golf Clothing Advice and Information

Purchasing clothing there are several places you can purchase from. There is your golf pro. shop, where you will get a great selection and advice. The high street sports shops, and finally the online stores, there is such a vast selection to view from when going online, a lot of the online stores will not charge you shipping costs depending on the amount of your purchase. In quiet a lot of the stores right now you will get some fantastic offers on clothing.

Golf Shoes: A very important golf accessory as they give you a firm grip on the ground which is most important. There is such a wide selection of golf shoes on the market to-day, and of course the prices can be quiet different. You can purchase waterproof golf shoes with usually a 1 to 3 year guarantee. When you purchase your pair of golf shoes most times the makers will give instructions as to looking after and protecting the golf shoes. If you abide by the makers instructions you will have a much longer golf shoe life, and a more comfortable shoe especially on instructions as to when they get wet. A very good shoe on the market, which is waterproof and has a 3 year guarantee called. ECCO Men's Classic Saddle GTX Gore-Tex Golf Shoe,it comes in black, coffee,white/cognac,and white/black.

Golf Gloves. The importance of the glove is that it gives you a better grip and prevents your hand from slipping which is so important. In the cold weather the glove or pair of gloves helps to keep your hands warm. During the wet weather it is a very good idea to have a spare or spare pair of gloves in your golf bag. Wet gloves are so uncomfortable.

Golf T- Shirt. They are designed not to constrict your movement and are very comfortable to wear while playing the game of golf. As with golf shoes and golf t-shirt don’t economise on either, good quality pays off in the life and comfort of each product.

Wet Weather: Too many layers of clothing will obstruct your swing and can be so uncomfortable all round. Select light wear clothing and a good waterproof wet suit, which with some brands get a 12 month guarantee. There is a good rain suit i came across by a company called: Sun Mountain. By clicking on sun mountain you will get a lot more detais on the suit Sun Mountain 2009 Provisional Men's Golf Rainsuitit comes in 6 different colors.

A good size waterproof cap is also most essential for wet weather. I have seen golf players during wet weather having a spare pair of socks in their golf bag, not a bad idea. Comfort is what it is all about. a very good hat called: Snake Eyes Waterproof Rain hat well worth a buy and reasonably priced
Remember to have a waterproof cover for your golf bag and most importantly to have dry clubs.

In beginners golf one needs all the comfort possible at all times, but especially in wet and cold weather

Putters Golf - Beginners

Putting must be one of the most frustrating parts of the game of golf and more especially when starting out in the game. For example you have a great drive and your second shot is just short of the green so you chip on to the green, and then loose it all by taking 3 to putt. It is equally as bad having to take 3 or even 4 to the green and then to continue with the bad run and again take 3 to putt. Unfortunately that is the game of golf; we would all be challenging Tiger Woods if we could hit it perfectly on a regular basis. That is why this article putters golf-beginners.

An excellent e-Book I found and well worth having called “Master Putting"! by Mark Pearson. You also get a free video to watch of Tiger Woods chipping in at the 16th green 2005 Masters. Plus a free instructional golf guide e-Book by Mark Pearson. I liked the video, great to see the master in action.

Solving the problem: First start off with practice and plenty of it on the practice green. Don’t just putt a lot of golf balls for the sake of putting practise, do it properly and study each putt as if you were on the golf course e.g.
Being properly lined up to take the shot: Make sure your feet, hips, and shoulders are parallel to the target, judging the distance and the power to hit the ball.

This is where regular practice comes in to play. Remember to take the putter back and through the same distance. Don’t jab the ball follow through in a nice and relaxed speed, always aim for the back of the hole where you have some some chance of putting as you will never get in on a short putt.

When lining up the putt, stand behind the ball and see that imaginary line including the falls of the green and make sure to hit the ball with the centre of the putter.

Putters golf- beginners always remember before going out to play your game of golf arrive half hour or so before and practise your putting shots. A lot of players practise their drives and neglect their putting which is all wrong.

The Fastest Way to Improve Your Score is to Learn to Putt Well. Have a look at the e-book i mentioned above it is good“Master Putting"! by Mark Pearson. As i said you get a free video to watch of Tiger Woods chipping in at the 16th green 2005 Masters. Plus a free instructional golf guide e-Book by Mark Pearson. I liked the video, great to see the master in action.

Recap:
Find your line.
Feet hips and shoulders parallel to target.
Hit the ball with centre of putter.
Aim for back of hole.
Back and through same distance

Beginners Golf

Beginners Golf. First of all you must be serious about taking up the game otherwise its only a waste of your time and hard earned money and maybe your friends time especially when they take the time and patience to introduce you to the golf course and continue to do so, remember that is after you have had lessons and plenty of practice and know the basics of the game.

After 4 or 5 lessons and plenty of practices venture out on to the golf course and maybe start off by playing as some beginners do play 5 or 6 holes to begin with and then gradually build up to playing 9 and so on, don’t force yourself to play more holes than you want to. Always be watching other players playing the game they might remind you of the lessons you received from the pro.
An e-book well worth reading for beginners golf called. “ Golf Beginner Guide!” by Frank J. Peter. It walks you through what you need to know about golf, from the total basics to some advanced tips

There are some fantastic golf books and videos now on the market. The videos can be great especially the pro. videos. You can see in action the exact dos and don’ts being demonstrated by a golf professional. You don’t have to wait a number of days to have the video delivered to you by the postman. All you have to is download it there and then. Another suggestion is to watch the professional golf tournaments on the telly you will pick up some fantastic tips on the game. As for buying golf magazines yes they can have some great topics on the game including good tips and offers but for me they work out far too expensive.

There are also some great Golf Tuition Holidays. They cater for individuals, and groups. Sometimes they include. Playing and video lessons. 2 to 5 day courses. Some unique beginners programmes and with professional trainers. They could make for a great holiday,

Remember the e-book mentioned earlier it would be a great way to enjoy a relaxing evening instead of TV, e-book by. Frank J. Peter. “ Golf Beginner Guide!” You will get some great ideas and advice to start out with, and you can download it in 5 minutes.

Some Tips:
• Don’t spend too mush money on clubs starting out.
• Start by getting 4 to 5 professional lessons.
• Practice as much as possible and continue to do so.
• Learn the rules and golf etiquette.
• Watch the professional games on TV

FAQ.
• How long before I will be able to play good golf.
• Answer: It all really depends on your commitment to the game and practice.
Set realistic goals for yourself to start with. Don’t rush the game or you might find yourself giving it up before you even start.
• Can I buy golf clubs on the internet?
Answer: Yes you can, the internet is becoming very popular for buying golf clubs, with such a wide range on offer and great prices. But not at the start. I suggest as in the article purchase a second hand set or small number of clubs. When you get to fully understand and like the game then is time enough to make the purchase of a new and more expensive set.
• Where can I purchase a golf rule book?
Answer: Most professional golf shops attached to a golf club will supply rule books.
• As soon as I start playing on the golf course would I be better just paying green fees or join a particular golf club?
Answer: Depends after the lessons and practice you have commenced playing on the course and decided to continue, then you could consider joining a club as green fees can become very expensive if you play regularly. But of course it depends also on the fee to join the club. You will have to work that out for your self

Golf Tuition-Beginners

First of all to start with you must decide which type of tuition you want, is it: Beginners- Intermediate or Advanced. A beginner could be a person who either never played on a golf course or who played with friends a few times etc. and received the very basics of the game and probably hasn’t got a handicap.
Intermediate player: A player who has played on a golf course for some time and has an established swing including pitching, chipping and putting and has a golf handicap.
The advanced player therefore is a player whose handicap is below double figures?

Golf Tuition for beginners, first of all you must be serious about taking up the game otherwise its only a waste of your time and hard earned money and maybe your friends time especially when they take the time and patience to introduce you to the golf course, and continue to do so, remember that is after you have had lessons and plenty of practice and know the basics of the game that you go on the course for your own sake.

A great ebook called. “ Golf Beginner Guide!” by Frank J. Peter. It walks you through what you need to know about golf, from the total basics to some advanced tips.

Before getting golf tuition you will require golf clubs and a golf bag. Purchasing your first set of golf clubs be sure and don’t go mad and spend a fortune especially starting out, go to a pro. shop in your golf club they will be glad to offer you advice on starting off, a lot of the shops will have second hand golf clubs on offer. You don’t exactly need a full set to start with maybe a 3 wood, 5.6.7.9 iron, a pitching wedge, sand wedge, and putter. Another way of getting clubs would be to check with your golfing friends maybe they have an old set and only be glad to see them put to use. Also in the pro shop remember to get the few accessories required such as, golf balls, golf glove, and tees. Pitch mark repair tool.

At the pro.golf shop book your lessons explain that you are a beginner. The pro.coach will arrange a time to have your first lesson, have 4 to5 lessons to start. The pro will give you just a few instructions each time other wise you would only become all confused about the game. Have plenty of practice in between each lesson on the instructions the pro. gave you to practice on.

Take your time don’t rush it or you will only become totally confused and maybe give it up before you even start the game, and that would be sad as its such a great game which you will soon find out. While relaxing at home in the evening instead of TV have a look at the ebook mentioned earlier by. Frank J. Peter. “ Golf Beginner Guide!” You will get some great ideas and advice to start out with, and you can download it in 5 minutes.

Putters Golf

Putters Golf

Putting is probably the most pressurised part of the game of golf. Therefore practise is most important. Who was it that said “Drive for show and Putt for Dough” .You must be confident with your action, judging distance and learning to read the greens. No point getting on the green in two shots on a par 4 and then 3-4 and 5 to putt. Practice, Practice, Practice.

What type of putter? First of all check your friend’s putters and see if any of them suit you inc. the weight and the shape of the putter. Next go to your pro. golf shop. Take your time have a good look around. There is such a large variety of putters on the market from short to very long shafts and all shapes and size of heads. Sometimes the handle of the putter is flat to suit the way a golfer holds the club. When you see a few different ones you might like, ask that you try them out; usually they have a putting matt for that purpose. Don’t buy for show, that is stupid it has to suit you otherwise its pointless and waste of money.

A great product for all putters golf, on the market called “Amazing Golf Mind! by Andrew Scott.” It is a down loadable Audio. You will also get Free a short game audio. It is well worth having a look at, and reasonable price.

Some Putting Tips:
• Have your toe stance parallel to your target.
• Read the break.
• Target line is not always straight to the hole could be left or right of the hole depending on the break.
• Curved putts aim feet parallel to line chosen.
• Bend yourself over to putt, putter behind ball and stance.
• The speed to hit the ball. Practise on practise putting green.
• Try not to leave ball short of the hole, it’s the one guarantee of not getting in the hole.
• The firmer you hit the ball the less chance of bad breaks.
• Companion putting before you. Watch the speed of the green and what breaks there are.
• Don’t move your head or look up when putting, wait well after hitting the ball.
For some more very good suggestions on the subject check out Andrew Scott! he is good

Golf Etiquette

Golf Etiquette.

Here is a short guide to golf etiquette and golfing behaviour. It really means showing consideration to the course and other players, especially for beginners it is one of the most common pitfalls. Just keep in mind a few of the simplest rules as soon as you step on to the golf course.
Bunkers:
It is most annoying when some players leaves footprints and club marks in a bunker. Always smooth out any and all marks left by you. If a rake is not available at least try and use your club as best you can to smooth out. Leave the bunker as you would like to see it left.
Divots.
Using a practice swing or an actual swing shot. Take your time and replace the divot in the hole you created and make sure to press down the divot with your foot. It only takes seconds to do it.
Greens.
There is nothing worse than seeing pitch marks left un-repaired. A lot of the time when a ball lands on the green it leaves a pitch mark. You must repair such pitch marks using a special tool or a tee-peg. Make sure to have a pitch mark tool with you always. A brilliant tool is the Victorinox Swiss Army Golf Tool With Callaway Golf Balls The Repair Tool can be extended using the golf ball shaped pushbutton and can be used to repair depressions in the grass. The blades fitted on the side disappear into the inside of the tool with the slightest pressure, so that the fork is very comfortable to use. The blade of the Groove Cleaner can be used to clean the grooves on the golf club, and is very useful for punching the position for the tee--especially in hard or frozen ground. Avoid dragging your feet when on the green as it too will leave line marks on the grass.

Flag: Place it down gently dont throw or drop it. Don’t walk across the line of a players putt. Be totally silent when a player is taking their shot that applies at any time on the course.

Slow Play: While your partner is taking their shot be thinking and preparing for your shot, so as to be ready immediately to take yours. After teeing off try and walk as quickly as possible to your ball. At the green make sure to have your bag at the same side towards the next tee box.

If your golf ball goes into the rough and looks like being well hidden, you should direct the players behind you to play through. Dont give time searching direct them on right away as it prevents delays and frustration to those on the tee box behind you. Remember everyone looses their ball even Tiger Woods.

Top Rated Golf Bags

Top Rated Golf Bags.
What is a Top Rated Golf Bag? Do you judge it by the quality of the bag, the price, the brand name or design. It really depends what you have in mind and how much you are prepared to pay.
It is most important to decide on what type of golf bag you want or that would suit you.
Take a stroll through any major golf retail store and you will find such a large selection of golf bags of all types including colours, stand bags, cart bags, tour bags and golf bags available from all major manufacturers carrying their names and logos. Nike, Callaway, Titleist and many more offer bags to suit every golfer including men, women and juniors.
Top rated golf bags such as the Cleveland Golf Tour Staff Bag with 10.5 inch Top - 28883 Its the same bag used by Cleveland's PGA Tour staff professionals and has 6 way top with two full length dividers, 4 pocket traditional design Main Clothing / Accessories Compartment and Weight: 11 lbs (5 kg. A super bag.

Most golf bags will have numerous pockets and club dividers and many have drinks holders also. The choice of brand names, styles, sizes and colours is almost unlimited. One can get some great deals whether buying on line or in a golf store. Remember if you see a golf bag on line you like, dont get doubts as to the cost of it being sent to you , with the great prices on offer and the low delivery charges. Also if buying outside the USA the dollar rate right now makes it well worth buying on line more than ever. Another golf bag available on lie is the OGIO Atlas Cart Bag - 2007 Model. This bag includes such conveniences as the 10-inch Uniter 15-club suede top with full-lenght compressed-nylon dividers to minimize club contact. All weather rain hood. 37 inches high and 9.5 pounds weight for easy lifting. 13 pockets including one for your cell phone. It has many more features, well worth looking at.

If you always ride a golf cart when you play, a cart bag would be a good choice as it allows you to buy a bag that is roomy and can comfortably carry your clubs and other items and light enough to carry from the car to the golf car If you sometime walk the course, a stand/carry bag is the bag to use. Carrying a large cart bag around the golf course is crazy.

The cost you will no doubt find the big brand names will be more expensive than the lesser known brands. Top rated bags like Nike, Callaway, Titleist and Wilson all produce top notch golf bags in the cart and stand bag varieties. There are of course other brands which produce golf bags that are good quality but lower in price. For many buyers, the name is not of prime importance. The construction and comfort of the golf bag is ultimately the main consideration it should be judged on its usefulness as opposed to the brand name on the side. The material from which it is constructed will also make a difference and many lightweight bags can be bought at a reasonable cost. The more robust a golf bag is the more it will cost. A very good stand/carry bag on the market is the Adams Golf 2009 Ultralight Golf Stand Bag It consists of the following: 7", 5-way top * 4 pockets * IZZO dual strap * Mesh water bottle sleeve * Interior valuables pouch * Interior cell phone handle * Pen sleeve * Padded lumbar hip support * Non-slip foot pads * Integrated trunk handle * Weight: 3.5 lb. Not bad for a stand/carry bag.

If you place a lot of emphasis on the name of the manufacturer as some people do as they feel this gives them some credence among their fellow golfers who give them more respect if they are using a Nike or Callaway as opposed to a lesser known brand. Some of the larger leather bags are outstanding and prominently carry the logos of the main players in the golf industry. Whatever bag you choose to buy, make sure it is one that makes you comfortable on the golf course. Your golf bag will never improve your swing but everything helps.

Putting Tips Golf

Putting.
Read the green, but don’t over think it: study the green, and decide how far to the left or right to aim before making the putt. Of course this is important, but many golfers seem to get a little too concerned with it. If you’re looking at a green and can’t quite decide how to read it, just aim right at the cup! A very good book worth downloading and reading is Breakthrough Putting Secrets Revealed,! it has a easy to follow, step-by-step system its good.

When Putting give all the motion to your shoulders: As you line up over the ball to putt, lock every joint but your shoulders. This includes your wrists, elbows, and knees Make sure all the motion is in your shoulders, and let them swing freely. With the rest of their body locked, many golfers have trouble letting their shoulders move freely when putting and end up with a sort of herky-jerky motion. This will make for an unpredictable putt.

Visualize the ball in the hole. Take a moment before putting and imagine it going in the hole. This can be an invaluable tool when it comes to your game. Remember, positive thinking will not result in positive results, but positive thinking will result in the absence of negative thinking, and negative thinking almost always results in negative results.Visualize the ball in the hole. Take a moment before putting and imagine it going in the hole. This can be an invaluable tool when it comes to your game. Finally for practicing at home or in the office a very good instrument to have by a guy called Dr. Gary Wiren PUTTron Putter Face Alignment Training Aid lets you know immediately when your putter is properly aligned to the target by emitting a steady "beep" or a green indicator light. Just attach the small mirror to the heel or toe of your own putter and align it properly with PUTTron.

Golf Staff Bags

The Golf Staff Tour Bag is the largest selection of golf bags which is available, they are much larger that the travel/carry bag or the Golf Cart Bag. You see the professional golfers on TV use these golf staff tour bags. However, they do not personally carry them due to their weight. They travel with caddies to help them instead. The amount of equipment that these golfers can carry is as much as they would like and an average PGA Tour Bag is 40-45 lbs with all the equipment in it. The price for the staff tour bags is substantially higher than that of the cart golf bag or the travel/carry bag. A Golf tour bag i came accross lately which i really like is the Fourteen Golf Tour Staff Bag Description of the bag is as follows: This Fourteen Golf Tour Staff Bag is a full size tour bag with an oversize belly, ball pockets, rain hood and full umbrella sheath.Features:*Full Tour size Model *Pro-type, 3-point shoulder strap *6-partition opening for smooth club access *Full separators to keep clubs from tangling *A fully-open front pocketColor Options: White and Orange

Golf Stand Carry Bag

Can be used on the back of a golf cart as well as carried by the player during the round.A Golf stand carry bag is typically about 4 pounds in weight prior to adding your golf equipment. Depending on the golf you usually play, any one of these styles can suit your needs, A very good golf stand carry bag is the OGIO - Ozone Stand Bag - 2008 Some of its features are * 9" WoodeLite top* 8 pockets (6 zippered) * Glove/putter cover velcro strip * Pen sleeve and a walking-accessible water bottle holster, the Crossbow Lite shoulder strap system.

In determining the kind of golf bag will best suit you and the type of golf that you play, you need to first decide if you walk or ride most of your rounds of golf. If you walk the majority of your rounds, you will need a golf stand carry bag. You may choose to also have a golf cart bag for trips or special occasions. In addition, you will need to think about your typical golf club and how your golf clubs are normally transported about the club. Do you have to personally carry them quite a bit or is the staff able to assist you with your bag? I think that you get the drift, the more that you carry your own clubs the more you need a golf stand carry bag. The Callaway Warbird X Stand Bag is also a brilliant bag and has some great features such as features the XTT Fang Base, which makes the bag lighter — it clocks in at a mere six pounds. The Warbird X Stand Bag also features a durable 3-stay frame construction, seven full-length compartments and a plethora of storage options. Features: 9.5" 7-way oval top Seven full-length dividers Five zippered pockets, one mesh side pocket and cooler-lined water bottle pocket Adjustable 3-point strap

The golf stand carry bag is a smaller bag designed for those who are prone to walk the golf course or have to transport their own clubs around the club. These lightweight are designed for the players comfort as they are carried by the player. Although these bags are light weight they can hold a full set of golf clubs (fourteen), golf balls, tees, umbrella as well as and a rain suit. So the golf stand carry bag might be worth a thought for a second bag as they are pretty cheap, that is if you mix it by walking some days and a golf cart other days.

Golf Club Cleaning

Tips on Golf Club Cleaning.
The off season is a great time for cleaning your golf clubs, and dont forget your golf bag give it a thourough cleaning also, especially inside the pockets, including any other repairs and maintenance on your equipment. It's also a great time to take inventory of what you have, what you don't have and what you'll probably need to replace for next season.

When it comes to golf club cleaningyou have two basic choices. Have someone else do it for you, say, the pro shop--or, do it yourself. While there are a lot of things I recommend that the pro shop do, cleaning my clubs is something I like to do myself. Not only does make me feel good afterwards--newly cleaned clubs look great--but it also gives me some quiet time to inspect my clubs slowly and closely, which is something I totally overlook during playing season.
If you want to clean your clubs yourself, grab a few things and get to work. You'll need a bucket, some clean clothes, a tooth brush or something similiar, some mild dishwater soap and some elbow grease.

For your irons: Important Tip: Do NOT submerge your club heads into the bucket of water above the ferrules!!!. Make sure you have good head covers for your woods. A very good set of covers are NCAA Set of 3 Headcovers - Various Teams Set of three headcovers constructed of durable nylon features expandable socks that provide maximum shaft protection, three different sizes ensure a proper fit on your clubs and the #1 headcover is designed to fit up to a 460cc driver.

For newer golfers, the ferrules are those black rings where the club meets the shaft.
Okay, here we go. Put some warm water into the bucket, along with a dab of soap. Don't use very hot water. Hot water can loosen your ferrules. Also, you only need enough water to cover the heads of your irons...not the ferrules!
Put your irons, club face down, into the bucket and let them sit for a bit. When you're ready, take one out and using the old toothbrush, give the grooves a nice washing. There is a very good product worth looking at called, Denali Clubtub Portable Club Cleaneradidas Rival Cart Bag The adidas Golf Rival Cart Bag : This durable Rival Cart Bag from one of the leading names in sports is made with sturdy Nylon with micro perforated PU side panel accents. Keep your valuables safe on the course with the two velour-lined pockets. A 14-way top and nine pockets that are all accessible when the bag is on the cart makes this adidas bag a smart and convenient choice for you clubs. Features: Brushed metal zipper pulls 7.2 lbs. 8.5" top diameter. Colors Black/White. Red/White. Navy/Wht.

The second thing that you’ll want to look at is comfort. Be sure to choose when buying golf bags that it is comfortable to carry when it is full, so don’t be afraid to test it out in the store by adding clubs to it. When i have been buying golf bags for my wife or myself I’ve tried out many golf bags that seemed OK empty, but as soon as you added clubs to them — they became extremely uncomfortable. A most beautiful ladies golf cart bag i came accross lately is the Sun Mountain Ladies Diva Divider Cart Bags and my wife definately thought so. It comes in colours of Black/Houndstooth. Red/Houndstooth. Coffee/houndstooth.White/Houndstooth. Navy/Houndstooth.

Last but not least, consider how you’ll realistically be using the bag. Do you walk the course or drive a cart? If you typically use a golf cart, don’t buy a bag built to be carried around everywhere.Have a look at this particular golf cart bag it is a new arrival Bag Boy Revolver Pro Golf Cart Bag Product Features * 10 14-way rotating top with full-length dividers * Clip-Lok technology holds clubs in place * 8 external pockets provide plenty of storage * Golf bag weight 9.5 lbs.

Hopefully this short article has given you some ideas on what to look for as you go shopping for your next golf bag. Remember, be sure to choose your bag wisely and it will provide you with many years of enjoyment as a result.Take your time and make it a enjoyable experience.

Golf Cart Bags Review

Golf Cart Bags Review
I would like to welcome you to my Golf Cart Bags review site. The appropriate Golf Cart Bag for your style of golf is a prerequisite for an enjoyable game of golf, whether you're on a pro course or just playing for fitness.
Your golf bag is the piece of Golf Equipment that you will use to carry all your Golf Clubs. Golf Balls, Markers, Tees and perhaps other tools like towels or even an umbrella. Golf Cart Bags do not have a direct influence on the outcome of a game of golf but they definitely can have an impact on your overall comfort and level of fatigue as you make your round of golf.

There are two things that determine which of the golf cart bags is best for you: how much gear are you going to carry and are you going to carry the bag yourself or are you going to use a golf cart or a caddy. But if you plan to walk a lot of the way, then you will want to bring a bag that is easy to carry. There are different Types of Golf Cart Bags designed for each type of golfer.

The basic golf cart bags comes in three sizes. The first is a staff golf bag or tour golf bag. Obviously this name comes from the professionals that are on staff with a certain company to promote the company's products, and because of their weight they are designed to be carried on a golf cart and a beautiful tour bag for such purpose is the Callaway Org.14 Tour Cart BagIt weighs 7 pounds without strap and hood. 10¿ 14-way top with 14 full length dividers. Co-molded ergonomic power handle. Single strap. 7 zippered pockets. 2 hidden pockets. 2 water bottle pockets. Umbrella holder and towel ring. Styling inspired from the Tour Authentic Staff bag.It comes in colours of black/orange and black/silver. A bag highly recommended.

The second are the Golf Cart Bags. These bags are typically not quite as large as a staff or tour bag and are meant to be placed on the rear of a golf cart. They are not meant to be carried by the average player during their round of golf, while they are smaller than Tour Bags but they are relatively bulky for a golfer to carry around the Golf Course without the help of a caddy or golf cart.

Golf Cart Bags got their name because they are designed to be used on a Golf Cart. The golf cart bag have pockets and general storage space and make use of lighter materials making them less cumbersome to carry to the golf cart or your pull/push trolly. The pockets are typically designed for easy access as the bag sits on a golf cart/trolly. A very good golf cart bag is the OGIO - Exodus Golf Cart Bag - 2008 Some of the reasons it is so good are it is designed for serious outings, the Exodus is geared up with ¿ not one ¿but two insulated pouches to keep beverages cold (or hot) from the first tee to the last. All foreseeable needs have been met with this latest design: its new Wedge top was created to accommodate popular hybrid clubs; ten pockets include special storage for valuables in a fleece-lined space; and an innovative "Isolation Chamber" buffers wet gear from dry. Looking deeper, the Exodus is laden with endless details including dedicated storage for divot tools, umbrellas, towels, tees, gloves, and of course ¿ cigars. They come in colours: Black/Copper. Navy/Gold. Petrol and Merlot.

You may want to go for an even lighter bag if you want to carry your gear comfortably around the Golf Cours and if so take a look at the Adams Golf 2009 Ultralight Golf Stand Bag it has:
• 7", 5-way top
• 4 pockets
• IZZO dual strap
• Mesh water bottle sleeve
• Interior valuables pouch
• Interior cell phone handle
• Pen sleeve
• Padded lumbar hip support
• Non-slip foot pads
• Integrated trunk handle
• Weight: 3.5 lb
The colours are:Black. Black/Gold. Black/Orange. Black/Red. Black/Silver.

The Right type Golf Cart Bags. Depending how much you play. The golf cart bag is a very important piece of golf equipment. The reasons are simple. Obviously it is very important because it assists you with the storage and transportation of your golf clubs as well as other golf equipment. With the size of a golf cart bag, you can easily carry your clubs, tees, markers as well as other things you will need during your round of golf. The bag itself does not necessarily have a direct correlation to your score however, it can allow you to carry items that could make your round of golf more comfortable and more enjoyable
